Pedestrian Hit Salem Oregon in Salem, Oregon: A man believed to be in his early 50s was killed on the afternoon of June 24, 2026, after being struck by a train in southeast Salem, Oregon. Salem police officers responded at about 4:37 p.m. to a report of a train hitting a pedestrian at 4055 Turner Road Southeast and found the man dead at the scene. Police said the train was traveling southbound on tracks beneath Interstate 5 and was unable to stop in time.
