Two airlifted to Baltimore after separate accidents
Pedestrian Hit Ocean City Maryland in Ocean City, Maryland: Two separate collisions in Ocean City over the weekend sent one pedestrian and one e-bike rider to a Baltimore hospital. On Saturday, June 20, 2026, at around 10:26 p.m., a pedestrian walking east in the crosswalk in the southbound lanes of Coastal Highway at Convention Center Drive against the upraised hand signal was struck by a vehicle, treated by Ocean City EMS, and airlifted to Shock Trauma in Baltimore in stable condition. The following evening at around 11:21 p.m., an e-bike rider collided with the rear of a city bus that was slowing to a stop at the 42nd Street bus stop, sustaining serious injuries and being airlifted to Shock Trauma by the Maryland State Police Aviation Unit. Both incidents remain under investigation by OCPD's Traffic Safety Unit.
