Pedestrian Hit Wilmington Delaware in Wilmington, Delaware: A 57-year-old Wilmington man was killed in a pedestrian crash on June 24, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of Brookside Drive and North Maryland Avenue in Wilmington, Delaware. According to Delaware State Police, a Peterbilt dump truck stopped at a red light on northbound Brookside Drive began making a left turn onto westbound North Maryland Avenue when the signal turned green. As the truck turned, the pedestrian entered its path and was struck by the front of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 47-year-old driver from Smyrna was not injured. The intersection was closed for approximately two and a half hours during the investigation.
