Statesboro man dies in Dublin crash - Grice Connect
Pedestrian Hit Dublin Georgia in Dublin, Georgia: A 71-year-old Statesboro man was killed Tuesday night, June 23, 2026, after being struck by a passing vehicle while standing in the roadway beside a parked SUV on Georgia Highway 19 in Dublin. The SUV's hazard lights were activated but not visible to approaching motorists because they were blocked by an attached trailer, which had no functioning lights. After stopping, the driver exited the SUV and stood near the rear of the trailer in the roadway when a southbound sedan struck him; the SUV driver suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The sedan then left the roadway, traveled onto the west shoulder and crashed into a large creek; the sedan driver sustained minor injuries and was transported for medical treatment. Highway 19 was closed for approximately two hours while Georgia State Patrol investigated.
