Pedestrian Hit Wilmington Delaware in Wilmington, Delaware: A 57-year-old Wilmington, Delaware man was killed after being struck by a Peterbilt dump truck on June 25, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m. in Wilmington. The truck was stopped at a red light on northbound Brookside Drive at the intersection of North Maryland Avenue when it began turning and struck the pedestrian, who was walking westbound on the sidewalk along the eastbound side of North Maryland Avenue. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The 47-year-old Smyrna, Delaware driver of the Peterbilt was not injured. The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash.
