Pedestrian Hit Rochelle Illinois in Rochelle, Illinois: On July 8, 2025, after 10 p.m., police were called to the railroad tracks in Rochelle, Illinois, for a pedestrian suffering a severe injury in a train crash. Officer Edgar Silva of the Rochelle Police Department arrived and applied a tourniquet to control the bleeding, helping preserve the victim's life until additional medical personnel arrived. Silva was later honored with the Life Saving Award for his response.
