Police release new details in fatal South Lamar stabbing
Assault Austin Texas in Austin, Texas: A 59-year-old man, Roosevelt Hunter, was fatally stabbed on South Lamar Boulevard in Austin after he allegedly confronted a woman walking home near the Walgreens on South Lamar near Oltorf Street, made discriminatory comments, and threatened her with a knife. The woman pulled out her own knife during the confrontation, and officers later found Hunter nearby unresponsive and holding a knife. Austin-Travis County EMS pronounced him dead at 12:16 a.m. The woman was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was released; police have not named or charged her, citing her claim of self-defense.
