Bicycle Crash Fort Lauderdale Florida in Fort Lauderdale, Florida: A 69-year-old bicyclist, Shelley Lewis, was struck by a dark-colored vehicle while riding on a Fort Lauderdale bridge in the eastbound lanes of the 2000 block of Southeast 17th Street at about 6:40 a.m. Thursday. The driver fled the scene. Lewis was transported to Broward Health Medical Center, where she died. Police identified the driver as 22-year-old Don Janea Smith, who was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death.
