Bicycle Crash Fort Lauderdale Florida in Fort Lauderdale, Florida: A 68-year-old woman riding her bicycle on a Fort Lauderdale bridge was struck by a dark-colored vehicle in the eastbound lanes at about 6:40 a.m. Thursday. The driver fled the scene. The bicyclist was transported to Broward Health Medical Center, where she died. The driver, 22-year-old Don Janea Smith, was arrested on charges of leaving the scene of an accident involving death and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
