One dead, one injured in 2-vehicle crash in Madera County
Car Crash Rural California in rural, California: A 25-year-old Madera man was killed Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash at a rural intersection in Madera County that sent both vehicles overturning into an orchard, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP Madera officers responded to the crash around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Avenue 18 1/2 and Road 9. The Toyota driver failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection into the path of the Hyundai, which had no stop sign. Both vehicles overturned and came to rest in an orchard northwest of the intersection. The Toyota driver was pronounced dead at the scene despite lifesaving measures, and the Hyundai driver was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
