Bicycle Crash Las Cruces New Mexico in Las Cruces, New Mexico: On June 22, a bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle along Fairacres Road in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Witnesses reported the driver left the scene. Police used traffic cameras and other investigative tools to identify the vehicle as a black Cadillac Escalade, which was traced to the residence of Kimberly Skaggs, 54, where damage consistent with the crash was found. Skaggs, treasurer of the Republican Party of New Mexico, was arrested on June 24 and booked into the Doña Ana County Detention Center on felony charges of leaving the scene of an accident involving a fatality and tampering with evidence.
