Shooting Kansas City Missouri in Kansas City, Missouri: A Kansas City Police motorcycle officer was stopped at a stop sign near 27th Street and Jackson Avenue around 1:38 p.m. when an individual with a rifle opened fire on him. The officer got off the motorcycle and returned fire, and the suspect fled into a nearby wooded area before emerging and being taken into custody without incident. Neither the officer nor the suspect was injured, and the suspect's motive and weapon remained under investigation. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was called to investigate the officer-involved shooting.
