Monday morning Clare car crash kills one, injures another

Semi Truck Crash Ashard Michigan in Ashard, Michigan: A woman died and a man was severely injured after a head-on collision between an SUV and a semi-truck on M-115 near Ashard Road in Freeman Township, Clare County, on a Monday morning. The SUV, a Chevrolet Equinox, crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic and struck a white Kenmore semi-truck driven by a 37-year-old Cadillac man. The male SUV occupant was extricated and airlifted to a hospital with severe injuries; the female SUV occupant suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver was not injured, and Michigan State Police crash reconstruction investigators responded to assist.
