Shooting Marshall Missouri in Marshall, Missouri: On May 2, 2025, deputies with the Pettis County Sheriff's Office were executing a no-knock search warrant at James Joseph Elsea's residence in Marshall, Missouri, when Elsea fired multiple shots from inside the home. Two deputies were struck and injured during the exchange. Approximately nine minutes after the shooting, Elsea called 911 and reported that he believed he had shot someone. Elsea was later sentenced in federal court to 265 months in prison for drug trafficking and firearms offenses.
