Hit And Run Hobe Sound Florida in Hobe Sound, Florida: Around 9 p.m. on a Thursday, Eliuvar Garza, 24, of Stuart, ran a stop sign while driving at least 50 mph in a 25 mph zone, tore through palm trees, went airborne over a chain-link fence, and crashed his mother's car into a large main transmission water pipe at the South Martin Regional Utility water treatment plant in Hobe Sound, causing water to gush out and disrupting service to about 7,000 customers. Garza then fled the scene on foot. A family member later took him to the hospital with crash-related internal injuries. Overnight, Martin County sheriff's deputies found him; he was not physically arrested because the hospital believed he had internal injuries. The Sheriff noted Garza had no driver's license and may have been diabetic or drunk.
