A Volkswagen Golf traveling westbound behind a Ram 1500 pickup attempted to pass the pickup and struck a Subaru, which careened off the road and flipped onto its roof, killing the 70-year-old driver. The Volkswagen's driver, a 34-year-old Malvern man, was ejected due to not wearing a seat belt and sustained serious injuries before being taken to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton. Three other people were injured in the crash, and speed is believed to have played a role; no charges have been filed.
