Man caught in wreck saves dog from burning semi on I-64

The semitrailer veered from its lane into a dump truck, dragging it 400 feet and nearly catapulting it over the median. Kris Pelfrey, a passenger in the dump truck, escaped and attempted to rescue the semi driver, Jeffrey Simons, 63, of Iowa, who died in the incident; Pelfrey instead pulled a dog from the burning semitrailer before police took the dog to a shelter.
