Man caught in wreck saves dog from burning semi on I-64

Semi Truck Crash West Virginia Today in West Virginia: A fiery crash involving multiple vehicles and a semitrailer occurred on I-64 near South Charleston, West Virginia, on Tuesday evening, leaving one man dead. A semitrailer veered from its lane into a dump truck, nearly catapulting it over the median and dragging it 400 feet. The dump truck passenger, Kris Pelfrey, escaped his vehicle and attempted to rescue the semi driver, Jeffrey Simons, 63, of Iowa, but could not rouse him; Simons died in the incident. Pelfrey did manage to pull a dog from the burning semitrailer before police took the animal to a shelter.
