Man caught in wreck saves dog from burning semi on I-64

The crash caused a fire that spread quickly. The dump truck driver, Kris Pelfrey, escaped and attempted to rescue the semi driver, Jeffrey Simons, 63, of Iowa, but could not rouse him; Simons died in the incident. Pelfrey did manage to pull a dog from the burning tractor-trailer before police took the dog to a shelter.
