Man caught in wreck saves dog from burning semi on I-64
Semi Truck Crash South Charleston West Virginia in South Charleston, West Virginia: A multi-vehicle crash involving a semitrailer on I-64 near South Charleston, West Virginia, on Tuesday evening left one man dead. A semitrailer veered from its lane into a dump truck, dragging it 400 feet and nearly catapulting it over the median. Semitrailer driver Jeffrey Simons, 63, of Iowa, died in the incident. Another occupant of the dump truck, Kris Pelfrey, escaped his vehicle and pulled a dog from the burning semitrailer before police took the dog to a shelter.
