Man caught in wreck saves dog from burning semi on I-64
Semi Truck Crash South Charleston West Virginia in South Charleston, West Virginia: A fiery multi-vehicle crash involving a semitrailer on I-64 near South Charleston, West Virginia, on Tuesday evening left one man dead. A semitrailer veered from its lane into a dump truck, dragging it 400 feet and nearly catapulting it over the median. The dump truck passenger, Kris Pelfrey, escaped and attempted to rescue the semi driver, Jeffrey Simons, 63, of Iowa, but could not rouse him; Simons died in the incident. Pelfrey instead pulled a dog from the burning semitrailer before police took the dog to a shelter.
