Maine's Move Over Law: Keeping Roadway Workers Safe
Car Crash Gardiner Maine in Gardiner, Maine: A 57-year-old Maine DOT worker from Lewiston was struck by a 2021 Cadillac SUV driven by a 39-year-old Gardiner woman while removing tire debris from the northbound side of I-295 in Gardiner on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, just after 1:30 p.m. The DOT truck had its amber warning lights flashing in the breakdown lane when the worker stepped out near the right-hand fog line and was hit. The worker was transported to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta with non-life-threatening injuries. Maine State Police are investigating.
