Authorities initially ruled the death an accident, but a Washington County Attorney's Office investigation led to David Vander Meer, 49, of Las Vegas, being charged with murder with a domestic violence enhancement and insurance fraud nearly 20 years later. The affidavit alleges he pushed his wife and that the fall location was not a common accident site.
