On June 24, 2026, 51-year-old Mark McBride was hit and killed while crossing South Westnedge Avenue near Axtell Street. On Wednesday before 3 a.m., a 32-year-old man was found dead in the roadway at the intersection of South Westnedge Avenue and West Cedar Street after a hit-and-run crash.
