Jackley Commends SD Supreme Court for Upholding Convictions…
Assault Sturgis South Dakota in Sturgis, South Dakota: South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley commended the South Dakota Supreme Court for unanimously upholding the convictions of Chris David Kujawa, a Pennington County man found guilty by jury in May 2025 of First-Degree Burglary and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The victim testified that Kujawa forced his way into the home, pointed a firearm at his head, threatened to kill him, and warned that the victim's wife would be next. Kujawa was sentenced to concurrent 12-year prison terms, and the Supreme Court rejected his appeal challenging trial court rulings on cross-examination and a jury question.
