Hit And Run Anchorage Alaska in Anchorage, Alaska: A driver struck a cyclist in South Anchorage on Wednesday just before 4:45 p.m. at East 88th Avenue and Abbott Road, leaving the cyclist with life-threatening injuries and on life support at the hospital. Witnesses said the cyclist was in a crosswalk with a stopping hand signal when a Chrysler minivan driven south on Abbott by Matthew Lincoln Finn was going too fast to stop in time and hit him. The van left the scene but a witness followed and provided updates to police, who located Finn in the van near East Northern Lights Boulevard and Boniface Parkway. Finn was arrested and faces charges including first-degree assault, leaving an accident without assisting an injured person (felony), and leaving the scene of an accident (misdemeanor).
