Former Las Vegas youth pastor dies days after being charged…

Fall Injury National Utah in national, Utah: Bernadette Vander Meer died after falling thousands of feet while hiking at Angels Landing in Utah's Zion National Park in 2006. Her death was initially ruled an accident, but in 2022 investigators reopened the case after receiving new information that her husband, David Vander Meer, a Las Vegas youth pastor, had groomed and been sexually involved with a minor in his youth group ministry. David Vander Meer was arrested and charged with murder in connection with her death, and he died days later before a scheduled extradition hearing in Las Vegas.
