Ex-New Mexico GOP treasurer arrested for hit-and-run

Hit And Run Las Cruces New Mexico in Las Cruces, New Mexico: Andrew Brown, 40, was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle crossing the roadway on the 800 block of North Fairacres Road in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on Monday, June 22. Brown was severely injured and later died at the scene, with the Office of Medical Investigators declaring him dead at 4:15 p.m. A witness told deputies they saw a woman, later identified as Kimberly Skaggs, 54, walking to her vehicle — a newer black Cadillac Escalade — and leaving the scene. Skaggs, the former Treasurer of the New Mexico Republican Party, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and tampering with evidence.
