Coast Guard helicopter crashes during Alaska training flight
Car Crash Sitka Alaska in Sitka, Alaska: A United States Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crashed during a routine training mission in southeast Alaska on June 22, at approximately 10:07 a.m. local time, near Harbour Mountain outside Sitka. All four crew members survived with only minor injuries, and a personal locator beacon helped Sitka Fire and Rescue locate the aircraft. The Coast Guard has launched a formal investigation into the cause of the crash, and an MH-60 Jayhawk and crew from Air Station Kodiak were temporarily reassigned to Sitka to maintain search and rescue coverage.
