Bicycle Crash Temple Texas in Temple, Texas: On June 25, 2026, at around 7:42 p.m., Peyton Hoyt, 22, was allegedly driving while distracted when his vehicle struck two people riding bicycles in the middle of the roadway in Temple, Texas. Both victims were transported to the hospital; one sustained minor injuries and the other, a 16-year-old, sustained life-threatening injuries and later died at the hospital. On Thursday, Hoyt turned himself in to the Killeen Police Department after a warrant was issued for his arrest, and he is being charged with using a portable wireless communication device for electronic messaging causing death under Transportation Code 545.4251.
