Canyon man, 4 pets killed in house fire

Vehicle Fire Canyon Texas in Canyon, Texas: A 60-year-old man and four pets were killed in a house fire in Canyon, Texas. Around 11 p.m. Monday, the Canyon Fire Department and Canyon Police Department responded to a structure fire at 1209 9th Ave. Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames coming from the home and found Theunis DeBruin inside, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. The bodies of four pets were also found, and the fire remains under investigation.
