Car Crash Winthrop Maine in Winthrop, Maine: John Stratton Jr., 22, of Augusta, pleaded not guilty to manslaughter and related charges in connection with a fatal motor vehicle crash in Winthrop that killed Steven Greene, 76, of Wayland, Massachusetts. A police officer had previously recorded Stratton driving 123 mph in a 45 mph zone before the crash, which occurred when Stratton's Mustang struck a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck waiting to turn left onto Turtle Run Road near the White Duck Brew Pub, pushing it into the opposite lane and pinning a Chevrolet Silverado against the guardrail. Greene was thrown from the pickup and died at the scene; passengers Jason Kirshman and Nathaniel Heath, along with Stratton himself, were taken by LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center with critical or life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Silverado, Alexander Totman, was not injured.
