At Least 6 Injured in Logansport Water Plant Explosion

Vehicle Fire Logansport Louisiana in Logansport, Louisiana: An explosion at the Logansport Water Plant on Water Plant Road in Logansport, Louisiana, occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, sending at least six people to the hospital and triggering a hazardous materials response in DeSoto Parish. One of the six injuries was reported as serious, according to Mark Pierce of the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office. The blast caused a chemical release that was contained to the immediate facility, and through-traffic on surrounding roads was shut down for emergency response.
