9-year-old Monroe County boy dies after hotel pool drowning

Drowning Alabama Today in Alabama: A 9-year-old boy from Chestnuthill Township in Monroe County drowned in the swimming pool at the Days Inn by Wyndham on Hill Motor Lodge Road in Pocono Township over the weekend. The child was pulled from the pool and bystanders and emergency responders began life-saving measures before he was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, where he was pronounced dead at 3:51 p.m. Tuesday. An autopsy completed Wednesday determined the boy died from complications of drowning, and the Lehigh County Coroner's Office ruled the death an accident. The investigation is being conducted by the Lehigh County Coroner's Office with Pocono Township Police and the Monroe County District Attorney's Office.
