Vehicle Fire Pasco Washington in Pasco, Washington: A small airplane flying low clipped power lines on the Pasco side of the Columbia River near the Cable Bridge at about 2:29 p.m. on June 24, causing the plane to flip over into the river. The collision knocked out power in Pasco and Kennewick, and sparks from the damaged power lines ignited a grass fire at Pasco's Youth Baseball Complex. The plane was recovered upside down from the water by crane at about 3:30 p.m. Franklin County Sheriff's Office officials confirmed two men, later identified as Randy J. Peterson, 64, and Eric Wayne Houston, 50, lost their lives in the crash.
