Vehicle Fire Pasco Alabama in Pasco, Alabama: A small airplane flying low clipped power lines on the Pasco side of the Columbia River near the Cable Bridge at about 2:29 p.m. on June 24, causing the plane to flip over into the river. The collision knocked out power in Pasco and Kennewick, and sparks from the damaged power lines ignited a grass fire at Pasco's Youth Baseball Complex. Two men, later identified as Randy J. Peterson, 64, and Eric Wayne Houston, 50, died in the crash. The plane was recovered upside down from the water by a crane at about 3:30 p.m.
