Officers had been tracking the vehicle, which had New Jersey plates and had been reported stolen the day before, and surrounded it after it pulled over. When officers told the driver, 18-year-old Jayden Mendoza, and passenger Angel Robles, 20, to exit, Mendoza drove back and forth recklessly, striking a police sergeant and multiple other officers. Another officer jumped on top of the Kia and shot Mendoza in the arm; Mendoza is charged with attempted murder and Robles with criminal possession of a weapon.
