Pedestrian Hit Phoenix Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona: A 67-year-old pedestrian, Santiago Bernardo Ramirez, was struck and killed by an SUV while crossing a street outside of a crosswalk in northwest Phoenix on Monday night around 8:50 p.m. Phoenix Police Department officers responded to the collision call near 39th Avenue and Thunderbird Road and found Ramirez in extremely critical condition. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver remained at the scene, showed no signs of impairment, and speed was not considered a factor; police said charges are not being recommended.
