One-year-old British girl dies in hospital after Fuertevent…

Drowning Lajares Indiana in Lajares, Indiana: A one-year-old British girl was found floating in a swimming pool at an unnamed apartment complex in Lajares, in the municipality of La Oliva on Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, on June 15. She had gone into cardiac arrest and was revived and stabilized at the scene before being airlifted by medical helicopter to the Materno Infantil University Hospital on Gran Canaria, where she was admitted to pediatric intensive care in critical condition. She spent several days in intensive care before dying in hospital. Police are investigating the circumstances of the drowning.
