One dead in crash on Washington Road near Mullins Crossing

Car Crash Evans Georgia in Evans, Georgia: An 84-year-old driver was killed in a crash on Washington Road in Columbia County, Georgia. A Nissan Versa traveling west on Washington Road crossed into eastbound lanes, causing a GMC Yukon to swerve. The driver of the Nissan Versa, Vernon Lewis, was pronounced dead at the scene. Crews responded Wednesday morning to the intersection of Washington Road and Thoroughbred Lane in Evans, near the Mullins Crossing shopping center, and the sheriff's office shut down lanes due to oil and gas leaking from one of the vehicles.
