Car Crash Katy Georgia in Katy, Georgia: A Tesla Model 3 struck a home at high speed in Katy, Texas on June 19, killing 76-year-old Martha Avila, who died at Memorial Hermann hospital. The NTSB opened a safety investigation in coordination with the Harris County Sheriff's Department, and the NHTSA also launched a special investigation. A lawsuit was filed against Tesla and driver Michael Butler alleging Tesla's driver assistance systems were engaged at the time of the crash and that the company misled consumers about Autopilot and Full Self-Driving safety.
