Assault Nantucket Massachusetts in Nantucket, Massachusetts: A 39-year-old man, Kemar K. Downer, was arraigned in Nantucket District Court on two charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury after a stabbing in downtown Nantucket on Tuesday at approximately 10:30 a.m. The victim was transported to a mainland hospital by Medflight helicopter. Downer's defense attorney argued the stabbing was an act of self-defense, and a judge set bail at $2,500 with GPS monitoring and stay-away orders after reviewing surveillance video.
