Man dies after pickup truck backs into Lake of the Ozarks

The incident happened just before 5:00 on River Road. The man was backing the pickup and trailer down the boat ramp while a 66-year-old woman pulled a boat onto the trailer when, for an unknown reason, the pickup and trailer began backing into the water, causing the woman to fall between them. The pickup and trailer continued into the lake until both were submerged, and the driver was unable to get out of the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the Miller County Coroner at 6:39, and the woman was taken to Lake Regional by Lake Ozark EMS with minor injuries.
