Fall Injury Buena Vista Colorado in Buena Vista, Colorado: On June 23, 2026, around 1:40 p.m., a man identified as Frasch was walking a trail near the Arkansas River along CR 371 in Buena Vista, Colorado, when his co-worker dislodged a boulder that fell on him. Frasch was crushed by what investigators estimated to be an at least half-ton boulder and did not survive his injuries. The co-worker who reported the accident received minor injuries to his arms while attempting to help. The Chaffee County Sheriff's Office and Coroner's Office responded and are continuing to investigate.
