Maine DOT worker hit, injured by SUV on I-295 in Gardiner

The crash happened around 1:43 p.m. while DOT crews were removing tire debris from the roadway with a truck displaying warning lights in the breakdown lane. A 57-year-old Lewiston man who had exited the truck to clear debris near the fogline was struck by an SUV driven by a 39-year-old Gardiner woman. The worker was taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta with non-life-threatening injuries.
