Motorcycle Crash Mission New Mexico in Mission, New Mexico: On May 3, 23-year-old John Alonso was riding his motorcycle on the frontage road near Holland Avenue in Mission, Texas, when another motorcyclist, Apolonio Perez, evading DPS troopers drove the wrong way and crashed into him, killing Alonso. A criminal complaint states Perez led troopers on a chase lasting over eight miles, and a toxicology report showed he had a blood alcohol concentration of.19, more than twice the legal limit. Perez was charged on June 16 with murder, intoxication manslaughter, and evading arrest, and is seeking to lower his $3.25 million bond.
