Fall Injury Amberwood Alabama in Amberwood, Alabama: Richard Crowe, 68, of Pickens, was operating a lawnmower when he went over the edge of an approximate 15-to-20-foot cliff at 1118 Belle Shoals Road, near Amberwood Road just outside the city of Pickens. Emergency personnel responded to the call at approximately 9:05 PM on June 23, 2026. The Pickens County Coroner's Office and Pickens County Sheriff's Office are investigating the incident, and an autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause and manner of death. Officials noted the incident is separate from a fatal vehicle-versus-lawnmower collision that occurred the prior weekend on Jim Hunt Road in Easley.
