Pedestrian Hit Illinois Today in Illinois: On May 21, 2026, 24-year-old Timothy Johnson was killed in a hit-and-run in Cass County, Michigan. Police responding to M-152 and Pleasant Street in Silver Creek Township found Johnson's body in a ditch along with parts of a car. Investigators tracked the parts to a 2010 black Ford Taurus and identified 22-year-old Enrique Bejarano Martinez as the driver, who faces charges of failure to stop, tampering with evidence, and reckless driving causing death. Martinez sold the damaged car to a junk yard the next day and later moved to Indianapolis.
