Assault Bridgeport Connecticut in Bridgeport, Connecticut: Willesha Riddick, 41, was fatally stabbed on June 9 at a rooming house on Park Avenue in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Officers found Riddick on the first floor suffering from multiple stab wounds to her torso; she was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital and pronounced dead about an hour later. Johnnie Newkirk, 52, of Bridgeport was arrested on June 24 at Bridgeport Police Headquarters and charged with murder and tampering with evidence in connection with the killing. Police said Newkirk and Riddick lived in separate rooms at the rooming house, and investigators recovered the knife believed to have been used in the stabbing.
