Car Crash North Carolina Today in North Carolina: A 79-year-old Garner woman was killed in a head-on collision Wednesday morning on McLemore Road in the Cleveland community of Johnston County. A 2013 Chevrolet sedan traveling east crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a westbound Chevrolet Malibu. The driver of the Malibu, Patricia Ann Mailile, 79, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the eastbound Chevrolet, Jennifer Cameron, 49, of Clayton, was transported to WakeMed in Raleigh with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and driving left of center. Speed and alcohol were not believed to be contributing factors; driver inattention and crossing the centerline were considered contributing factors, and investigators planned to analyze Cameron's blood and cell phone records.
